Description The combination of orris root and smoky notes is absolutely intoxicating. These two notes are so multifaceted that it could be argued that they are fragrances in and of themselves but the combination of the two results in a complex interplay that is more than the sum of its parts, with each material bringing out the best in the other. Given my proclivities, it should come as no surprise that I love O, Unknown! It is comfortable, rich and myserious—the perfect fall fragrance. This is one of the most compelling and delightful fragrances of the year and it offers something for everyone. Orris fans will love it for its dense, earthy and, at times, buttery orris accord. Leather fans will love the soft and supple leather effect the fragrance imparts. Tea fans will love the authentic, earthy tea accord (the result of the inclusion of a handmade Lapsang Souchong tincture made by perfumer Josh Meyer). O, Unknown! is Imaginary Authors at its best—a veritable showcase of everything that makes this Portland-based perfume house one of the most exciting and inventive independent perfume houses around today.
