As a young child, Sonia Constant dreamed of being an architect, designer or stylist but that all changed when she discovered perfumery. Before attending the prestigious Institut Supérieur International du Parfum de la Cosmétique et de l'Aromatique Alimentaire (ISPICA) in Versailles, Constant spent the summer working at Givaudan in order to meet perfumers and become acquainted with the industry. While working as a lab assistant she discovered Givaudan's perfumery school, about which she remarked "I rapidly understood, that there will be very few places, and mostly for people who have connections. I didn't have any...I had my passion and I was not afraid of hard work, always remembering my grandfather telling me that this was necessary for success." Even after beginning her studies at ISPICA, she continued her work at Givaudan as a trainee working alongside the likes of Jean Guichard. At ISPICA she studied under Francis Kurkdjian and Dominique Ropion. After graduating she continued her education at the Givaudan perfumery school. In the years since she has created fragrances for Carner Barcelona, Guerlain, Tom Ford and Van Cleef & Arpels.
