Description Cécile Zarokian’s second fragrance for Jovoy is a unique and surprising oriental composition. Two years ago, Jovoy founder François Henin asked Zarokian to accompany him on a trip to the Middle East to find an idea for a new fragrance. The story goes that they sampled their way through all sorts of beautiful attars, mukhallats and bakhoors, but in Henin’s words, “it all belonged to the world of the Middle East and we did not want to simply copy their ideas.”

Inspiration finally struck while the pair were visiting local friends and enjoying a special, spicy-sweet, tea called Karak tea. The beverage, made from a combination of black tea, cardamom pods, cinnamon, clove, ginger, and sweetened milk, possesses a unique and distinctive aroma. As Zarokian sipped from her cup, the heady floral aroma of frangipani drifted into the room causing her to remark to Henin that the scent of frangipani reminded her of her honeymoon and that one day she hoped to capture its unique aroma in a soliflore composition. A fragrance can sometimes capture a moment in time and it was this moment that Henin and Zarokian sought to preserve in Remember Me.
